Excess oil in the engine is by no means recommended. Although a millimeter to two above the maximum can be tolerated, a larger oil volume than allowed leads to problems in engine operation, filter contamination, increased fuel and oil consumption.
If you have poured more than what the manufacturer recommend, you need to drain the excess and store it in an appropriate packaging for the next filling.
