Can different engine oils be mixed?
Avoid mixing engine oils of different specifications. Incompatibility between two oils can cause a physico-chemical reaction between the base oils, leading to their complete degradation, thus impacting the oil's viscosity and performance. Additionally, a chemical reaction can happen between the performance additives, which may generate deposits, causing a significant reduction in the filterability and/or increased foam from the mixture of the two oils, and a general drop in the performance of the oil feed.
